Local events we are aware of are listed below.  You can also use Labour’s national search facility to find any Labour Party events which have been notified to the Party, or contact your Branch to find out what’s going on in your immediate neighbourhood.  If you want more information, please either contact us here, or leave a message with our Brighton office on 01273 806773 option 3, or message us via our Facebook page here.

Normally you are best contacting Pavilion Labour by email but, as there is currently a problem with our service provider, please do not email any @pavilionlabour.org.uk inbox until this notice is updated.

Saying thank you to NHS staff coping with COVID-19 was already a top priority for Pavilion Labour members after hearing a report at our February 2020 AGM.

Spring 2023

This spring our primary focus has been the May local elections, where Brighton and Hove residents have given historic backing to Labour, as you can see here.  Our thanks to everyone who supported our campaign and voted to back our 2023 Labour manifesto.  We can all now look forward to what our new majority Labour Council will do for our towns.

Although the local elections are over, a general election is coming sometime (the sooner the better, we say) and there can be a by-election at any time.  So, please make sure that you are registered to vote and have the correct photo ID now required to vote in-person at elections.  If you haven’t got any qualifying photo ID and don’t want to apply for any, then you can apply for a postal vote to cover all elections.

Online activities and Campaigning update:

If you aren’t able to come out campaigning, there are plenty of other things you can help with, so don’t be put off.  We have leaflets to fold, labels to address, envelopes to stuff and there’s always telephone canvassing to do, as well as data entry.  Please get in touch because we’ll really appreciate your help.

Coronavirus (COVID-19) arrangements:

In light of the spread of coronavirus, all local Labour Parties (or ‘CLPs’) including Brighton Pavilion Labour Party, stopped CLP meetings in person and suspended street campaigning in March 2020.  This was as originally advised by Jennie Formby, in her letter to CLP Secretaries here.

Accordingly, our CLP General Committee (‘GC’) meetings will only be happening online for the time being.  Delegates will be contacted directly by email with links and documents.  Due to the limit on numbers at online meetings, members who are not delegates cannot generally be accommodated.  Our apologies for this.

Members can be assured that the officers will be exploring alternative options and we shall return to meeting together in person when it is safe to do so.  Meanwhile, Pavilion Labour wishes everyone the best of health.  For health information and advice on coronavirus (COVID-19), read the NHS online pages here.

Please check for updates but, currently, due to coronavirus our next scheduled meeting is online for delegates only.

2023 CLP arrangements:

Campaign days:  Labour Party campaigning is currently focussed in local branches, so please contact your Branch Campaigns Officer or Branch Secretary for details.

GC meetings: meetings of the General Committee (or ‘GC’) are currently being held online only due to coronavirus restrictions.  The officers will be exploring alternative arrangements when possible within the national coronavirus regulations and additional guidance issued by the Labour Party’s General Secretary.  We intend to return to in-person meetings once safe and the Older Members’ Forum has already trialled hybrid meetings.

EC meetings: EC meetings are normally held approximately ten days before each GC.

Business deadlines for branches and affiliates to table items at the GC: 11am a fortnight before the meeting date.
