Policy 2022 –

All policy resolutions agreed by our General Committee (GC) – the policy-making body of Brighton Pavilion Constituency Labour Party – from 2022 on are listed below in date order (latest first).  Shorter motions are shown in full below.  Longer motions can be viewed separately via the relevant linked page or attachment provided.  Policy is set in the context of our rules, which you can find here.

Ukraine – between 6 – 8 March 2022, in response to women members, the relevant officers of Brighton Pavilion CLP accepted this resolution as an emergency and, in discussion with the CLP’s delegates to 2022 Labour Women’s Conference, agreed to submit it as an emergency resolution to that conference:

Reaffirming Labour’s Commitment to Independent Living (NILSS) – on 12 February 2022, Pavilion Labour’s GC unanimously adopted this resolution supporting a National Independent Living Support Service and the universal right to independent living being “enshrined in law”, with the introduction of free social care in England, funded by national and progressive taxation.  This resolution can be found here.

Strengthening Standards in Public Life – on 12 February 2022, without any votes against, Pavilion Labour’s GC adopted the resolution here expressing our concerns that the UK still does not ban MPs from holding second jobs, specifically lobbying.

Protect Carers – on 30 January 2022, Pavilion Labour’s Women’s Branch adopted this resolution and decided, on behalf of Brighton Pavilion CLP, to submit this resolution to 2022 Labour Women’s Conference:

Use of Online Chat Functions – on 22 January 2022, Pavilion Labour’s GC discussed the use of online chat facilities and adopted this resolution without any dissent:

Application of Accessibility Guidelines – on 22 January 2022, Pavilion Labour’s GC discussed issues surrounding the application of the Party’s own accessibility guidelines, adopted during 2021 and adopted this resolution unanimously:
