2021 Labour Conference

2021 Labour Conference Reports

Pavilion Labour elected its full delegation of 12 representatives to Labour Conference 2021, or #Lab21.  When it came to it, Covid restrictions meant that only 9 of our elected delegates were able to attend Lab21.

Elected to represent the whole of Brighton Pavilion Constituency Labour Party were: Leonie Barua (Preston Park), Tina Cox (women’s delegate – Hanover & Elm Grove), Cllr Amanda Evans (St Peter’s & North Laine), Ty Galvin (Hanover & Elm Grove), Theresa Mackey (Preston Park), Judy Richards (Hanover & Elm Grove), Erin Smith (youth delegate – Withdean), Dave Tait (Preston Park), Jacob Taylor (St Peter’s & North Laine), Claire Wadey (Withdean), Tim Wilkinson (Regency) and Maureen Winder (St Peter’s & North Laine).  Although, Leonie, Erin and Dave were self-isolating and could not attend Lab21, the still played their full part in our preparation for conference.

Many of our delegates had experience to draw upon, either from attending previous Labour or Women’s conferences, or from union or professional conferences, and the scale of 2021 Labour Conference was greatly reduced on the last few years.

You can find the written reports provided by our delegates by clicking the links below. Where (and when) available, links to film of Pavilion Labour delegates speaking at #Lab21 will also be provided.

You can also find our blog welcoming everyone attending #Lab21 to Brighton here.

This year separate written reports have been provided by Tina Cox, Jacob Taylor, Claire Wadey and Tim Wilkinson.  (You can read their reports by clicking on their names.)  A combined report Making Labour Conference Accessible has also been compiled by Pavilion Labour’s Disabled Members’ Branch from the comments of disabled and chronically sick Pavilion Labour members who were delegates and visitors at Lab21.

Thanks to all our delegates who did a great job representing Pavilion Labour at 2021 Labour Conference, as well as our stall volunteers Michael, Dave and Chris, who gave us a big commitment of their time at very short notice.  Our party stall is always a big part of our conference when Labour conference is in Brighton.
